We have had a problem with wild dogs entering our property for a few years now. Tonight, I heard my dog barking and growling a lot, and when I looked outside I spotted two dogs outside his cage. I grabbed my shotgun and went outside (might sound cruel but we have many animals, goats, cows, chickens, etc.), and dispatched three shots. One of them was hit and I moved in closer to put him out of his misery. That’s when I saw the dog was wearing a collar, he was someone’s pet. I felt awful, and I wanted to take him to the vet, but my mother told me not to, saying I was right in shooting him because he was on our property. The wound didn’t seem too bad, he was bleeding though. So I ended up taking him off the property and left him outside. This happened literally 20 minutes ago. I feel terrible.
