My coworker died of cancer last week. I just looked in my diary and saw that I wrote something bad about her last year. She was lovely but eccentric and she turned a phone call with me that was supposed to be 2 minutes into 90. At the time I felt taken advantage of because she was talking for so long about her opinions on covid and was using me to relieve her self of boredom while she waited in her car for her mum to get out of the doctors. If I knew she only had 9 months to live I would have treated her kinder and let her talk about anything for as long as she wanted.
