I am a 23 year old female living at home. My university in Seattle is online since quarantine and I had to move out of my apartment and back home and am working on my MS degree at home for now. Graduate school is incredibly stressful, especially in the sciences but my dad doesn’t understand it. He’s always interrupting me and shaming me for not helping out more in the kitchen. He never says anything to my brothers about helping out in the kitchen, only me because of my biological “luck” of the draw. I do feel guilty about not helping my stepmom but when I’m in school I don’t have time to cook so I usually eat out or make simple meals for myself. Now I’m wondering if I should just buy my own groceries at home and make my own quick meals instead of having to deal with this or if it would just aggravate the situation.
