In third grade I attempted to frame someone for a crime they did not commit. Picture it, it’s the year 2000. Pokémon is exploding. There’s the show, the games the cards all the memorabilia, it’s poppin for Nintendo. And everyone is in on it. Except for me. Because my parents were poor and couldn’t afford to buy me all those things. And this made me very sad, as I watched the show all the time and always watched other kids play with their game boy and cards at lunch. I was living vicariously through them. But there was a rich snobby kid, we all know that kid, or Hell you were that kid. Either way we all know that type. Anyways he notices I never have any of my own Pokémon stuff, that I’m always hanging around them with nothing to show of my own. He guesses correctly that I’m poor. And the look on my face confirmed it for him. He started making fun of me and got the other kids to do it as well. So now not only am I sad that I don’t have my own Pokémon stuff, I’m now being ridiculed because of it. My parents names are getting dragged through the mud by some smug 8 year old pricks. I tried to stop them, but my pleas fell on deaf ears. I started crying and ran off to the bathroom. Now this is where I became sad angry. Because I started debating with myself about wether or not I deserved that. And I came to the correct conclusion that I did not. And that’s where my evil side was born. Right there in the third grade boys bathroom. I thought, well if he’s so f****** rich he can replace the cards if they were to for some mysterious reason disappear. Then I thought well, I’ll be the first person that gets questioned. Especially after what had just transpired. So I did some more thinking. What if I steal someone else’s cards and place them in his back pack and land him in trouble. Maybe his parents will take those precious cards away from him. And thus a plan was put into motion. I picked my target. The kid with the second biggest collection in the class. He had cards that Rich snobby kid wanted. Like he always trying to broker a trade for this other kids 1st edition Charizard. So that gives him motive. If you haven’t noticed I was smart af for an 8yr old. Or at the very least extremely motivated with a thirst for revenge. Anyways, I took my time planning this. I started taking notes about how they moved about. Where they put their belongings. How the places certain items etc. And I did this for a month. I felt pretty confident in this plan. All I had to do was wait for the right time. And when that time came I pulled the trigger. So Other kid had a knack for going to the bathroom after art class, but not until the next class started. And Rich boy had a knack for leaving his back pack next to other kids backpack. Rich kid sits in the front. I sit in the back near the back packs. Our teacher has a tendency to look at the board instead of us while teaching. Rich kid also happens to be a nerd, so he is ever so attentive to what’s going on up front and not so much what’s going on behind him. So once Other kid left for the bathroom I made my move. I slinked out of my desk ,doing so slowly, so the other kids didn’t notice. I made my way to the backpacks behind this wall divider thing and proceeded to do what I had set out to do. Little did I know, someone had seen me get out of my seat. None other than other boys best friend who I had left out of my plans. He didn’t say anything because he had no clue what I was doing. Until later that day at lunch when other kid found his cards were missing. And then he lets it out. Oh you should ask (me) about that, saw him fooling around in the backpacks earlier. I heard that from across the room and internally panicked. But I kept my cool on the outside. He comes over and hits me and demands I give him his cards back. I deny everything. He makes me give him my backpack. He opens it. No cards. This is where I made mistake #2. I smiled. He goes well there not here but you know where they are. I know you do. Tommy wouldn’t lie about you messing around in the backpacks. I try to recover and continue my denial. Now you think I’m done for right? Like they have me dead to rights. Well here’s part of the plan that I left out. Remember that Charizard card I brought up? Well I may have taken that card out of the binder as an insurance policy. And I might have accidentally put it into rich kids desk at the beginning of lunch during the chaos of when when everyone was rushing to their backpacks. Now rich kid finds the other binder and exclaims it. Other kid rushes over and opens it to find that the Charizard card is missing. The teacher by this point has become involved. And everything is talked about. I give some bs cover as to why I was in the back packs. I was searched and as you already know, they found nothing. Now other kid is crying. I feel bad, but not enough to narc on myself. Because I knew it was only a matter of time before the card was found in rich kids desk and I’ll be absolved of this horrible grand theft. Because the only logical thing to do (atleast to me) after that was search everyone. And they did. Oh boy, the look on rich kids face when that card was pulled out of his desk was priceless. You see, that Card was really the only card that rich kid wanted, and everyone else knew this (excluding the teacher of course) What better way to steal it than to frame yourself make it look like Someone else did it and still get what you want. It was the perfect crime. He “found” the backpack and had had the card in his desk. It was a the perfect crime. And I got away with it. And to make it sweeter Rich kid was grounded for several months and was never allowed to bring his cards to school again.
