One of my dachshunds came back from the vet after a few days of boarding. He had thrown up the food the vet fed to him the first day back and had not made a bowel movement since coming home. The second day, yesterday, he still hadn’t gone but was acting fine. I fed him a lot of table scraps in one sitting like I occasionally do if I can’t finish eating a sandwich or something. That night it was a small piece of a ham/cheese toasted sandwich. Later that night he had throwing up fits and had to be brought to the vet for dehydration. I think I know the main cause was the stress and constipation, but I added fuel to the fire. I feel terrible.
