I may be a white male but I feel entitled to an opinion about Ferguson anyway. Because I actually have read the thousands of pages of testimony. There wasn’t enough evidence for a real trial. The only testimonies that pointed to Wilson as the aggressor were from people who had something to prove and their stories–even without having access to all the photographs and recorded interviews that the jury also had–had logical holes big enough to drive a shattered-window police Tahoe through.

Garner was a damn shame. Toy-gun-kid was too. How about we work to reshape police exceses AND a violence-glorifying culture? Rather than using it as an excuse to loot and riot, right over the top of the wishes of the families–which are a little more relevant here.

Oh, but that’s too complicated of an issue for a bumper sticker or 24 hour news cycle, isn’t it?

God, I miss proper reporting. I’d rather have a well-reasoned deep-diving analysis than shallow bloviations to fill space between ad buyers and regurgitated press releases.
