I think I’m depressed. And I’m okay with that. I understand it’s a thing, and I understand that I can work my way through it, but what I’m not okay with is everyone forcing themselves on me, like “Oh, hey, I’m here if you want to talk, don’t worry, I’m always here for you, life will get better, just get out of highschool and into college, and it’ll be okay!”

But it’s not okay.

Last Monday, I had the police called on me by a friend because he thought I was going to kill myself. Even though I wasn’t, what no one else knows was that I had the knife in my hand, and I was ready to slit my wrist. I even began to cut, but I just… stopped. I don’t know why.

But I’m tired of being coddled. I’m tired of, “I’m here for you!” I’m tired of everyone saying, “It’ll be okay, you’ll feel better soon.” I’m tired of how everyone has to smother me, making sure that I’m okay, that I’m happy.

I just want to be told that it’s okay to be sad. That’s all. Why is that so hard to say?
