I’m a basically normal person. I have a job, friends, a boyfriend, hobbies, etc. I socialize well and am relatively articulate. Despite all of this, I absolutely cannot stand myself. I have such anxiety about who I am as a person, even though I know logically that I don’t have much reason to feel this way. I am constantly second guessing every single thing I say and do. Although I try my best not to show it, I have zero confidence in myself as a human being. I don’t know how to keep myself from feeling this way. I catch myself saying things like “I want to die,” and “I want to kill myself” at least a dozen times every day. I think about killing myself frequently, though I don’t think about specifically how I’d do it. I do still desire to live, and am terribly afraid of any pain that might come with killing myself/death in general. I suppose those two things are largely my deterrent. I just fear that these thoughts will progress, and I will feel worse about myself the older I get. I feel like I am being held prisoner by my anxiety
