I’m a little late to the Facebook train. I’m 34 and just got it this year. I moved across the country straight out of high school and lost touch with everyone within a year. (I was very unpopular anyway, because I was ugly, so it was no big deal.) People weren’t mean to me, they just ignored me mostly. Which I guess is a form of bullying.

Now I’ve reconnected with about a dozen people from back then, and OMG – their lives S***. I knew I was doing well, but I didn’t know I was doing so far above and beyond anyone else I graduated with. I’m happily married, with children, a career I love, a house, the whole American dream. And they’re all miserable, divorced or never married, s***** job, living paycheck-to-paycheck. One guy even asked me for money within three messages.

I know this is immature and petty, but the enjoyment I get out of posting photos of how happy I am – on vacation in Hawaii, at a concert with my wife, or just playing with my children – has gone up exponentially. I love finding subtle ways to rub it in their face that I win. I did better than them.
