I’m so f****** tired of people calling my generation s***. Yes, we get it. We’re all lazy, spoiled, technology-addicted wusses. We get that our generation is different from past generations. We f****** get it, ok? I’m tired of being told about how it’s such a shame that it’s not like the 70s or the 80s or the 90s anymore because guess what? It’s not! It’s the 21st century now. I’m tired of my parents talking to their siblings about how great and amazing and right their childhoods were and how soft and easy and lame ours are/were. Maybe I’m just overreacting but everywhere I turn I’m told my generation is inferior and weak. I don’t think any 40 somethings could look me in the eye and say they wouldn’t have been just as eager as teenagers now are to have smartphones and iPods and laptops if they’d been around when they were growing up. It’s not just our faults. We’re a product of society. We’re a product of our parents and our environments. Obviously we are our own people (as much as kids and teenagers can be anyways) and some kids nowadays are just really f****** stupid…but not all of us are. Just like generations before ours. Teenagers haven’t really changed that much. They had as much s** and alcohol and drugs in our parents’ generations as we do now. The only thing that’s really changed is society. I’m not saying that to sound like some idiot who just hates society. It always changes. Technology and social media have accelerated the change. I mean look back at all of the different periods of time. The 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s are all different. As technology became more advanced the changes in society became more radical and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Change is good. So f****** what, you don’t like it? Well no amount of complaining will bring things back to your golden days, and telling kids that their life and society are worthless and pathetic compared to yours is just kinda mean and pointless, don’t you think?
