So my adult sister who lives with/mooches off my mom, who has been jobless for about 6 months, who hasn’t held down a job for more than a few weeks for over a year, who lies on her a** all day and night watching netflix, doesn’t do ANYTHING around the house, or help with the bills, and is generally a b**** to everyone …. AND is now pregnant from a one night stand and refuses to consider adoption even though she is in no way or shape capable of taking care of a baby….
Well, she got a notice that she had to appear in court because- guess what??- she hasn’t been paying her probation fine! I am honestly not surprised at all. She’s been supposedly keeping what money she gets her hands on to pay it for… what, the last few years? But I never believed she was actually making payments on the fine. She’s ‘borrowed’ money here and there to ‘pay it’ thirty bucks, fifty, a hundred, from this or that person… but I knew she was lying. I haven’t loaned her money in years because I know better, but apparently everyone else- including my soft-hearted mother- still had some faith in her.
I knew it. She didn’t get locked up over this- which is good, I guess, since she is pregnant- but when my mom told me about it, it was clear she still believes that the state is at fault. She doesn’t believe they’ve been crediting my sister’s so-called payments… WHAT payments, mom? How can you really believe she’s been making any payments at all? She’s stolen from her own family countless times, probably to buy drugs again, she’s lied to us endlessly, she’s broken into our private things… she’s used us again and again and shown not an ounce of gratitude for ANYTHING anyone has done for her, EVER. How can you still have faith in her?
Maybe it makes me a bad sister, but I’m done. I don’t trust her. I love her, but I don’t like her and I don’t want to be around her. I’m not going to freak out and worry because she hasn’t been paying her own fines. I’m not going to freak out because she’s pregnant. She got herself in this s***. I’m not going to worry and fret about her. I’ve expended so, so much energy worrying about my sister over the last fifteen years of her screwing up again and again, I can’t do it anymore. I’m finally in my own place with my husband, we are finally happy and somewhat detached from all the damn drama.
