Dear wife,

If you’re wondering why I don’t like spending time with you, it’s because my love for you has changed dramatically over our 13 years together. Back then, I loved you romantically. Now, I stay with you because:

– You’ve given me a lifestyle I could never afford myself.
– You’ve given me three beautiful children. I know children from broken families have a much harder time with everything, and I don’t want to do that to my children.
– I am terrified of being single again. In fact, if we divorced, I’m certain I would kill myself within a few weeks.
– I don’t think I can do any better than you. You’ve managed to destroy any self-esteem I had before we got married. I put up with you because I think I deserve it.
– I don’t want everyone who told me not to marry you to be right.
– My health is failing, and I don’t want to die alone.
– About once every four or five months, we actually have a good day together.

No, this isn’t romantic love anymore. Now we are just roommates who share a lot of things, including children.
