Whenever I ask others what they think my primary characteristic is, they usually tell me that I’m smart; if I’m being honest, I’ve grown to hate it. I hate the fact that my only identifiable trait to other people seems to also be a standard I have to live up to. It’s a routine task that I hate having to shoulder. Something that once gave me a sense of identity and pride is now a shackle, a burden. I just wish that, if only for a day, I could be the carefree simple friend who people like having around by virtue of just being a fun person.
