I swear I see bruises on her face in these photos. I’ve heard rumors that her son is a total jerk with a temper, so I can assume his father is the same. Is he abusive? Does she keep it quiet because she’s afraid of him, or afraid of the gossip? They are a wealthy, well-to-do, pillars-of-the-community family. Maybe I’m just thinking this up because I think I see bruises under her makeup in these photos. Maybe they aren’t bruises from being hit. Maybe she’s got some kind of illness or skin condition. I don’t know these people and they don’t know me, their photos just came across my desk for some editing before they go on to the printers. But I can’t help this sinking feeling that I’m seeing lying smiles when there is misery and fear beneath all the glamor.
