No, the internet is what people have made it. It shows the absolute worst in humanity. The internet could become less cruel if more people would make the effort to show some kindness and not use it as a playground for their inner jerk … but that ain’t gonna happen. The order of the day is to be as mean and hurtful as possible, start as many fights over pointless topics as you can, and squeeze out every last drop of rudeness and harshness you can muster. It used to be because people could be anonymous online. Now people don’t even care if they’re anonymous anymore. So much hatred, so much aggression, so much meanness. It’s really depressing.
