Martino was a young Roman Catholic priest. He was drawn to religion since he was a little boy. Due to his thirst for knowledge but also ambition, Martino quickly gained the title of a bishop and then he became a cardinal.
At the conclave Martino was chosen as a new pope, although he was 25 years old. He was one of the youngest popes in history. Martino had a papal tiara put on his head and he stepped out on the balcony of the St. Peter Basilica in Rome. Before he appeared before the crowd, a voice cried out, “Habemus papam!”
How would Martino manage to lead the largest branch of Christianity at such a young age? He had doubts but was in a state of shock because even though he possessed kindness, knowledge and ambition, he never expected to be chosen as the pope.
P.S. Sorry if my English is bad, it’s not my first language. I’m Eastern Orthodox, just like my late father. However, I’ve learned my mother is Catholic. And so I had inspiration to write this scenario for a story/novel. Also, if I were a man (and the pope), I’d accept the papal tiara, which hasn’t been used in a long time.
