We worked together for a contest and every time our legs brushed against each other, my stomach churned and my face burned. I don’t know why you look at me like that when you like her. We went to the movies and you asked her to sit next to you and my hands shook with shame. I used to think you were looking at me in class, and then I realized she sat behind me. But you make me laugh until my gut hurts and sometimes it feels like there’s a glimmer of hope, but she likes you and I shouldn’t get in the way. I just wish you would stop looking at me like that.
