I am starting to really HATE smart phones. I’m not an old fogey, either. I’m in my 20s.
People don’t know how to communicate anymore. It’s all digital, all through text, facebook, etc. Actual social skills? Manners? Things of the past. I saw a group of teenagers hanging out at a fast food place, all of them playing on their phones, no one speaking unless it was to comment on something related to their phones. No laughter, no joking, nothing… just emotion-devoid faces staring at glowing screens.
Technology is RUINING us as a society, but people are too blind to see it. Parents, limit the time your kids spend online and on their smartphones. Make them go outside. Teach them to actually interact with other human beings face to face and over the phone. Get them to do something real, something that involves thought and action, not just sitting and staring at a computer, tablet or phone.
The next time I’m trying to talk to someone and they keep playing on their phone I’m not going to keep quiet.
