I am a teacher, and one of my students has SEVERE behavior disorders. Normally, I could kick him out of class and let the office deal with it. But this is a Catholic school, and we don’t have the resources for it. There is no counsellor even. I’ve told my boss multiple times that this child (second grade) is a danger to himself and those around him, but she refuses to see it because we need his tuition.
His parents are two gay men, who did the right thing in trying to adopt a refugee child from another country. But they are horrible parents – completely lacking discipline and too busy with their own lives to give him the attention he needs. When I tell them what he does in class – dropping his pants, punching other students, swearing, etc…. they laugh it off and say “boys will be boys”.
It’s gotten to the point now that I am quietly advising the other parents to pull their students from the school until my boss gets the idea – this kid needs to go somewhere better suited for him. Its only a matter of time before he really hurts someone, and I’ll be damned if I am going to get blamed for his behavior disorder.
