For the person with career doubts: do the thing that you actually want to do. That’s what I would suggest. Now while I wouldn’t promote being chronically jobless or aimless, it’s better to not know and flail a little than to not know and be in a situation that demands you to know. Outside opinions will always be there. You might as well be at peace and make decisions that don’t stifle you, regardless of anyone else.
