we’re never gonna get out from under covid because americans are selfish bashtards. they aren’t going to wear a mask because they don’t care if their actions kills medically vulnerable people. ‘YOU CANT STOP LIVING’ they scream. or, ‘ITS ALL A HOAX!’. or ‘WHAT ABOUT MY FREEDOM!’

what about the freedom of students who want to go to school without worrying they’ll get sick or make their parents or grandparents get sick and die?

what about the disabled people who can’t leave the house because they would be risking severe illness and death by a mere trip to the grocery store, while y’all are out here partying like everything is normal?

nothing will convince them, nothing. not even if they get sick themselves. not even if they lose their own loved ones. they’ll still find a way to deny and shift the blame. they’ll believe propaganda and call for scientists to be burned at the stake. how long til we’re back to the times of calling scientists and scholars witches and condemning them to death when we don’t like what they say?
