I grew up afraid of and hating black people, but not because I was taught to be that way. I was a quiet white girl in a mostly black school, and I was surrounded by loud, obnoxious, cursing, pushing, shoving, fighting, drug using blacks. I was bullied by them because I was white, threatened and teased constantly. Every day I was afraid and even now as an adult I can’t shake the feeling of unease when I get around a black person. I know there are african americans out there who know how to act decent, but I was never around many of them. I have to share this here because I know I’ll be called racist for it. I’m not… I swear.
