Hospital workers original poster: oh and you probably are right about that they compartmentalize it. But you know what? Most of these people literally flat out were chipper and laughing. Sorry but that isnt ok. Yeah you dont want to feel sad for them. Yeah you dont want to be stressed. But the way they dealt with us and their body language showed that they somewhat needed to be validated in some way and that they want to be “seen”. Like f*** off. Thats not just compartmentalizing. Thats ego.

I know people with disabilities can’t help it. I’m not trying to be cruel but social media needs to hide the videos because those with severe malformations look incredibly creepy.
