TL;DR – It’s not Pathological Demand Avoidance, it’s Demand Avoidant Personality Disorder, but if I say that anywhere online I will get the sack!

I have known for a very long time that Pathological Demand Avoidance is not autism. I see how those with PDA are treated with kindness how many of them are wilfully micromanaging, controlling and manipulative with an added layer of charm to really make the stomach turn. When you see that, you know that it’s really a personality disorder, and a dangerous one at that.

In the meantime, autism – which is much less unpleasant and dangerous because autism doesn’t make people deliberately not follow basic hygiene for weeks on end or pretend to be upset and angry at reasonable requests – is routinely stigmatised. Autistic people are still treated like scum in comparison. It’s disgusting how those with Demand Avoidant Personality Disorder are being allowed to co-opt the autism movement.

I have the Reddit post in draft, and am working up the courage to share it, but I daren’t. Why?
I nearly got the sack for trying to make truscum learn to take things like they dish them. If I EVER EVER get caught doing anything like that again, I’ll get the sack for real.

I wish there was someone or something that recognised Pathological Demand Avoidance as being the personality disorder it truly is.
