I will always cherish memories from high school but this one stands out for me. I’ll never forget it. But in order to talk about it, another story needs to be told first. So my senior year I only needed two credits. Math and English. So I had to fill the rest of my day with nonsense. I had two gym classes, and Aid period and an off campus internship. Well I fucked around and ended up with no teachers needing an aid for 3rd period, so I got stuck in the library. Which came right after my gym class. And a lot of times I would leave school and goto McDonalds for a late breakfast and show up 20minutes late to third. After about a half semester of me doing this one day I walked in and the librarian told me to get out and go see my counselor and that I wasn’t welcome there anymore. Which made me laugh hysterically in her face. As if I wanted to be there. Anyways, I goto my counselor who by this point has about had it with me (there’s more to that but it’s not relevant to this story) he tells me that I was kicked out because I was always showing up late with McDonald’s and that when I was there all I did was play computer games. Which all true. He just sits there and sighs at me. He goes “IDC what you do during third period, just find a teacher that’s willing to put you on their roster for attendance purposes. You don’t have to stay just show up so they can mark you down as being here” I was like bet. So my second period class was a gym class. With a teacher that I got along with really well. I asked him the next day if he would put me on his 3rd period roster and that I’d just sit on the side lines. He goes sure thing. But eventually I weaseled my way into participating in this class. A class I was not getting a credit for. Now back to the memory that stands out. One day towards the end of the year I left immediately after second and went to McDonald’s and got a sandwich. I came back sandwich in hand still dressed in my gym clothes and walk to the tennis courts where the class was at. They were playing lacrosse. While I’m on the side eating my sandwich I see the kid they have in goal is absolutely atrocious. This class mind you was a mix of seniors juniors and freshman. And most of them knew me. I walked over to this kid, told him to give me his stick. He was like no. That’s when I got serious and was like I wasn’t asking and yanked it from him. To which I cheers for from the people on the team, because they knew I was a good goalie. And the teacher was laughing about it. Which after class he pulled me aside and was like I can’t believe you did that. Don’t do that again. You’re not even in this class. But good game out there. And honestly, I wish I could relive that memory. It was a wild time. Thanks for reading.
