reasons why i no longer wish to attend school my conclusions 20 weeks ago into a course.

I do not react well to responsibility.
I do not react well to having my free will taken away from me
I do not think it is fair to put such a large burden on the shoulders of people who do not have the maturity to handle it. That is wrong.
I believe that the board of studies are sadistic and that they do not think of educational benefit when devising the syllabus and assessments, but purposefully set out to make as many students get each answer wrong as possible.
We are being taught the wrong things.
The child and teenage years are supposed to be enjoyable. instead they are marred by literal constant burden.
I am too young to suffer from anxiety and depression
I am sick of waking up and wanting to die
I am sick of being afraid to sleep because it means waking up.
I am sick of dreading every coming second of my life.
I am sick of being blamed and abused when I don’t want to spend my life outside school constantly thinking about school.
I am sick of being told that I am lazy and selfish because I do not spend three hours a night working on school.
I am already attending school for 6 hours a day. Why should I then spend my night doing school work?
Real life should come before school. Work should come before school. Relationships should come before school. Happiness should come before school
Yes, If a person wants to learn stupid things, they should be able to. But if a person wants to learn useful thing, shouldn’t that be an option? If a person doesn’t want to learn stupid things, wouldn’t it be better to let them get a head start in life than wasting their time?
The board of studies thinks it is ok to set a syllabus for biology that is so demanding and full that it is literally impossible to learn everything adequately in class time and therefore I must give up my holidays to go to school and learn things I don’t even care about but have to learn because otherwise I will not be able to score well in my HSC meaning I will not be able to get into uni meaning I wont be able to get a good job.
What good will knowing about the lymph system do me if I’m a lawer? What good will knowing how to analyse language techniques in a poem do me if I’m a doctor? What good will postmodernism do me when my tyre is flat? What good will Pythagoras do me in a job interview? What good will the greek mythology do me when I’m struggling to pay the bills?
Our whole lives shouldn’t be pinned on a number we receive at 18 years old.
I shouldn’t have to learn my entire legal studies syllabus in my own time on my own because my teacher thinks its ok not to teach during his classes.
I should not have to be livid with the English department because I know the way they set and mark tasks is unfair.
I should also not be restrained in my learning due to incompetent English teachers.
It is not ok to tell a 17 year old that they must decide the course of their life before the end of the year.
It is not ok to force a human to reside in a particular place, legally bound there, unless they have committed a crime.
It is not ok to force a 17 year old to make the decision between a deadbeat job and a daily six hour imprisonment.
It is not ok to force shy people to speak in front of crowds and assess them on how well they handle it in comparison to charismatic people.
It is not ok that people who write slowly get less opportunity in life then others
Messy handwriting should not affect my future
It is not ok that If I wanted to be alone at school, I couldn’t.
It is not ok that an introvert is forced into either pretending to be social and feeling constantly uncomfortable, or being bullied and harassed because they choose not to put themselves into frightening situations.
Weekends should be a respite, a chance to take a breath and enjoy oneself. Not a chance to spend more time doing school work.
I should not feel guilty if I spend my night doing something I enjoy.
Why is it not enough to fill our heads full of things we will never need to know and don’t want to know? Why do we have to get frequently interrogated to see how much slipped through the cracks?
Tests should be designed to find what a student has learned and where and how to further help them. Not a shaming process.
It is not a person’s fault if they don’t know something. You cant know what you don’t know.
It shouldn’t be a student’s responsibility to catch up on work they miss on their own, a teacher’s job is to make sure their students know things.
It is not ok for a teacher to say ‘I didn’t have to go to the trouble of making this slideshow to teach you this’. Yes they did. THEIR OCCUPATION IS TO TEACH.
A student’s education should not rely on their luck in teachers.
Bad teachers should not be hired. The education system is not about employing people, it’s about educating people.
A test shouldn’t be about knowing how to answer multiple choice or knowing how to structure an essay or knowing how to sound smart, it should be knowing what you are talking about.
School is wrong and I want out.
