If someone purchases something with your money without your permission or knowledge, it is stealing. Doesn’t matter if it’s under the pretense of helping a sick pet or some other form of aid. Scheduling appointments behind the owner’s back and then slapping the bill in front of them is stealing. I’d be willing to have covered it if actually consulted about the appointment before it was scheduled. Telling me I need to cover the payment after the fact? Yes, I’ll still do it, because it’s my dog. But because you slapped this expense on me so inconsiderately, there’s going to be a written agreement that you’ll pay me back for what you “borrowed” for this. And if I see it getting spent on pampering your spoiled daughter, it’ll just be taken out of the next monthly check.
