I’ve just started planning my study abroad in college. It was going to be a chance for me to go to a place I’ve always wanted to go, to study there, sight-see, and be self-seficient. I’ve never gotten a chance to really be independent from my family before and I was really looking forward to traveling solo for once. So I made extra travel time for myself besides class stuff so I could see the country.

But when my family found out I was going, they all invited themselves along on the trip. It’s not like I don’t like going on family vacations, but I really wanted this to be an independent experience. I just want to have a chance to establish myself outside of school/family situations. But…yeah. I’m just bummed out that even as an adult, I can’t have control over my life.
