I think the legal age of consent should be 16. I’m female (28) & the only reason I say that is cuz I don’t want anyone to think I’m just a pervy dude who wants to f*** girls. I just think back to high school & remember all the slutty girls who dressed for the singular purpose of looking “mature”. There were *3* teachers who got in trouble for hooking up w/ students (they were 18) but still there were enough 15, 16 yr olds who would’ve been willing. Why do we act like teenage girls are all innocent/naive/fragile when there are enough of them that are provocative, manipulative, and KNOW what they’re doing & know what they want. Traci Lords (the actress) began her career as a p*** actress using a fake ID when she was like 15. No one coerced her or trafficked her- she was just DTF. I was never EVER the type of girl to do those things, but I’ve seen so many teen girls who were ready for that kind of s*** I actually feel bad for guys who get in trouble for shacking up with them. One of my favorite comic book illustrators met his wife when he was 15 & she was 30. He’s almost 60 now & they’re married to this day. I just feel like some adults are at a certain level of emotional maturity & some teenagers just match those types of adults, whether by equal measures of immaturity or by the kid being just as mature as the adult. When I was a teenager, I fell for a guy much older then me. He never came on to me (and like I said, I never did any sort of things like that), but we had everything in common & I loved talking to him. He moved away & I was crushed. Even as an adult looking back I feel like we could have been something. I miss him.
