I knew a girl in high school who was so into Twilight that she wanted to change her name to Bella. She also found an online “vampire family” and genuinely had a deep connection with these other vampire people, and considered herself their “mother”. I also remember that she had a super huge crush on a kid who was OBVIOUSLY, *FLAMBOYANTLY* gay, but she lived in utter denial of how incredibly queer this boy was. I bring up that last part just because now- a full decade later- I still can’t believe how delusional and weird and crazy people can be. We all go through some weird phases as kids & teens, but this girl really takes the cake. I wonder what she’s up to now.
