I had a bestfriend when I was smaller, we’ll call her Jenny as that is no where near her actual name.
We went to the same preschool and school and would have even went on to be in the same class if her mother wouldn’t have moved her to another class because a girl she was trying to in a way force a friendship with on her (the same went for the other girl’s mother as they were friends) was in a different class than what “Jenny” would have been originally in. She ended up moving but still continued to going to the same school as I at least after we both got older, I cannot remember if she switched schools a little later after moving sense it was a long time ago. We wouldn’t see eachother as often as we used to after school so we used to so my parents tried to have her parents bring her over from time to time so we could play during some of the days off school as she still lived pretty far. At one point this ended completely and the only time “Jenny” and I would ever see eachother was during school but around that time she started hanging out with mostly the girl her mom kind of in a way forced her to be friends with, who I guess we could also name: Mia. “Jenny” did spent a lot of her time anyway with “Mia” after she moved but around that time it started being even more and “Mia” would be basically the only person “Jenny” would be ever seen with.
Fastforward a few years and we ended up being able to move out of the house we lived in, I transferred schools and sometimes when one of us would visit the area we used to live in we would see “Jenny’s” mom and hear what was up while we didn’t see “Jenny” at all anymore. It ended up being that around the time we moved “Jenny’s” mom and “Mia’s” mom had some kind of a big argument and wouldn’t let “Jenny” and “Mia” see eachother what I think was for a few months, after they patched things up they ended up letting “Jenny” and “Mia” see eachother again. I ended up living at the other house for a couple of years, and didn’t hear really anything much more than that of “Jenny”.
When we ended up moving out of that house and back into the same area I used to live most of my life thus far in, I was walking down the street and ended up seeing “Jenny’s” mother, she stopped to talk to me and tell me about how “Jenny” still really liked the idea being friends with me again and about how much I had grown it was a pretty general conversation until it took a turn, She ended up telling me not to tell “Jenny” as it would make her condition most likely even worse but she ended up talking about how “Jenny” is staying out late and not always telling exactly where she is going or doing and that she ended up becoming friends with a group of people that aren’t the best type of people to be friends with.
On top of that she ended up telling me that her group of friends aren’t even what you could call actual friends, they insult her all the time; often calling her fat even though she was a healthy average weight. No matter how skinny she gets they call her fat and ugly… “Jenny” now has anorexia, I do not know how exactly bad her condition is.
I still sometimes see her now, as she from time to time comes to visit as last time I heard she was in a relationship with a friend of one of my siblings. I’m trying to think of how it would be possible to bring her anorexia up without having it be clear that her mother told me as it could make her condition worse (according to her mother who has seen “Jenny’s” anorexia start off and develop), I’m trying to figure out if there would be a way of getting her to bring it up without her condition getting worse. I am trying to think of how you could have a discussion with “Jenny” about it that might not help her right away but would not make her condition worse at least as none of us really have that good of an idea how we should start a discussion to her about this to try to make her start recovering.
