As a woman, I have to agree with the guy who posted this confession. And to be completely honest, we do have equal rights as men. I can accomplish just as much as a man can, if not more. I even make more money than my boyfriend does. Not to mention that the guy had a point about the middle east. Women are treated like second class citizens there and have very little rights compared to us women here.
Absolutely! Women in places like Iran and Syria can’t even host a women’s march because they’d either be arrested or killed. Literally. Maybe the feminists should be more concerned about those places when it comes to women’s rights as opposed to here where we have much more freedom?
It seems like the original poster is more angry that some women are looking and acting in a non-feminine way more so than actually caring about rights. If he likes feminine women, that’s fine. Other people like butch women or ones with shaved heads. Some people feel comfortable in traditional gender roles and some don’t. If he’s convinced that women already have all the rights they need, why not just let them keep the right to be un-feminine if they want to instead of insisting that they all “bask in their femininity” or whatever. It has nothing to do with how women are treated in other countries.
I get your point, but I think the original poster was referring to the fact that some women are so desperate to have equal rights (even though they already do), that they’re willing to, in a sense, “become” more masculine by doing things such as shaving their heads and ridding themselves of their femininity to prove a point of some kind.
After this past election cycle, I did much research on the wage gap and found no evidence of it whatsoever even though I was always told us women were paid less. I’m paid based on what job I have, my position, and the degree I got in school that kept me from receiving minimum wage. And when it comes to equal rights…I don’t see anything I can’t do that my fiance can.
