A couple months after my husband and I moved into our rental house, someone came by with a petition, trying to get a house built in the neighborhood by habitat for humanity. It seemed like a nice idea- a home for a needy family- so I signed. It was approved. Well, the house is being built right across the street. They’ve been building it for almost a year, and now that they’re almost done, a family has been coming by to check it out. I assume they’re the lucky ones moving in.

What I DONT understand is that this family has a big, nice, truck. It’s LOUD. They sit over there for an hour or so every few days and blast loud music and rev the truck. Their kids run up and down the street screaming and shouting. They come over in our driveway and frighten our pets.

These don’t seem like poor, needy people. And I’m dreading having them as neighbors because we already have an obnoxious, loud person to our left who blasts loud music late into the night. We were promised a quiet neighborhood. The lease is up in February. Maybe it’s time to find something else.
