My brother lost his kids. They asked if I could move across country for a few months since the kids could be released to family instead of going into the system. I can’t leave my own family and said no, my sister in law said, “then there is no way you can help!” and hung up on me.

I called back because I wanted them to know what ways we COULD offer assistance and wanted them to know BEFORE they went to the court hearing in case it opened up options for them (they don’t know what will happen at this hearing for sure), but she wouldn’t let me speak. I haven’t raised my voice to another person in YEARS, but when she said, “There is no way you can help. We are on top of it!” I shouted back, “You are so on top of things you LOST YOUR F****** KIDS!”

It was the truth, but it shouldn’t have been said like that. I hope the system does its job and can rehabilitate their family.
