Yes, I know that we all need to be tolerant and accepting of gay people. I try very hard not to judge others, and this is something I’m still getting used to. It’s a widely accepted thing in today’s world but it’s still controversial. It’s hard to accept sometimes, especially when someone you love comes out. There are those of us (I’m speaking for Christians) who are trying. We aren’t all gay-bashing bigots who run around protesting and telling gay people that they’re going to Hell. Please know that. Also know that to someone who has been taught their whole lives that homosexuality is wrong, a sin, etc. it takes some adjustment. We are trying to understand, tolerate and eventually accept, but it isn’t easy for us.
So instead of throwing daggers at us, calling us homophobes and attacking us, why not be patient and help us accept it instead? I’m not throwing any hate at you. I’m being honest about the difficulty I’m having with this. So please don’t throw hate at me for something I’m trying to work on.
