I am sick of the blanket belief, That Down syndrome kids are blessings for everyone.
It’s great some people can find the silver lining and lovingingly parent. But not everyone can do that or even wants to try. For some, a disabled child is a burden and hardship.
Who will care for the child once you are old or pass on? Can you afford the extra time or money?
So no, a Down syndrome child is not a blessing from “God” nor a angel in disguise.
Look at the Down syndrome rates dropping, people are getting abortions. Stop shoving your religious blessing nonsense down a pregnant woman’s throat. If she’s scared her child will have downs, let her figure out on her own what she should do. Regardless if it’s continue the pregnancy or not, don’t guilt her into something.
