Having gay parents doesn’t excuse someone from being racist and bigoted. I don’t speak to her anymore, but the times when we hung out would leave me drained and in a bad mood. She would use other people to vent and complain about so many petty things in her life. It’s funny that she would call herself empathetic since she was horribly two-faced and would often s*** talk people if they weren’t there.
When I called her out for calling her Malaysian professor a “chink”, she got personally offended like I was being overly-sensitive about race issues. No, I don’t care if you had Asian friends in high school, that doesn’t mean you can say things like that. Do you even understand the implications when you chant “Ching chong ching” just because you “feel like it”?
She never respected the idea that I could be asexual instead always suggesting that I was probably a gay in denial. She would play this and all the other nasty things she would say as “jokes”, and the other people we knew would go along with this for who the hell knows why.
Three years was too long knowing this girl and I came out a lot worse from our interactions. You can come from a family with gay parents (and she made a big deal about this) but that doesn’t automatically mean you won’t be narrowminded and s***** prig.
