I really don’t like his family. Overbearing mother-in-law who refuses to cut the apron springs even though we are in our 30’s. His brother is such a d***, and his brothers wife is a “see you next tuesday.” They aren’t the type of people who are deserving of good things because they treat everyone poorly. I truly don’t wish them well and I never will. I can’t keep playing this game where I’m nice to them and continually get brushed aside.

Understood. My beautiful gf has an overbearing mother who treats her like she’s 14, tells her aunt to check in on her, and has had a neighbor curiously come outside just as I arrive, to check me out. We’ve talked about a future together and, one night, looked at a few ring sets (just looking), and the whole thing went through my mind. Do I want to be with her long-term and have THIS situation every day? No matter what we do or where we go, will we always be watched, checked in on, or have her mom still think she’s about 14 years old? I love her, and have since we met, however, am not sure I want the rest that comes with her.
