Seriously though, when you think about it, what is the point of having a secret santa thing and just strangers? Really? It doesn’t even really sound like fun to me. Personally. I’m a different breed though too. I am also a firm believer in your work mates are not your friends. Theres a respect, you need to work together Nd interact, sometimes go above and beyond, get along, but it’s not like you choose the people you work with. You go out and spend $25 on some s***, and recieved $25 worth of s*** from someone else and nobody knows?
Why? I don’t get it? Instigators bother me. We don’t do that here. I am here to make money and go home and I’m not enjoying it. It just doesn’t sound like fun to me?
Ya know? It’s the people who get pro active, who are technically new, they are, with their clip board, trying to force interaction, which is why I say I definitely prefer the way this place used to be. Fewer people, more room to move, breathe, and nobody would really do that.
I’ve come and gone, quite a few times, I usually quit, just don’t show up unlock me day, and I’m gone, and when I’m done exploring, 2, 4, 5 years later, I call them up, ask if they’re hiring and I’m back in within a month. The place used to be a really good, familiar, relaxed place, almost like a salvation. It was good to be back. There was less room for toxic social clash and people who cant read me. I don’t like the vibe. It’s too “The Office”. Too many people pushing pencils and s crunching numbers, not doing any physical labor, walking around with a clip board suggesting I want to be in their company and “share the spirit” with them, when no…. No I don’t actually. Can we please go back to before now? I prefered it when it was one pencil pusher, usually a lady, no boss there, only managers, the core group managingp and that was it.
Team building? Yeah, I don’t know… I’m kind ofna firm believer that you should be able to prove yourself earn respect reputation, and earn like, which makes for a good team. It happens naturally when it should. And doesn’t in other cases.
