The kind of stuff In would come up with is Dave Matthews kind of thing. I am not a big fan of Dave Matthews, but I don’t dislike his music but I have seen videos where he describes his style of writing and what makes his music what it is and he says he is not formally trained, he doesn’t know what’s what, so he just plays using what he knows techically and if it sounds good, that’s what it is. When I say I sounded like Hendrix, that’s what I mean. Technical but it’s not following a formula or trying to make it sound like anything it is what it is, but it’s not just stringing together a bunch of s*** and saying “there it is” without judgement. If it’s just notes “there it is…. It’s a song” and you are not sitting back and judging it “yeah but is it good?” What’s the point. Record a refrigerator motor. It’s not very s*** or exciting. Or get that rap guy with tbe Marley guitar to beat the crap out of his Guild.
