TLDR: I get paid decently to sit in an office and browse social media.
I wouldn’t count on the dynamic of the company not changing for the next 30+ years. But you have an opportunity to use your “Phone scrolling time” to locate info that can advance your security and wealth. Perhaps creating a business of your own online, while your current employer pays for your time to do that.
Use the time to improve your situation because the day will come when the company figures out that your job is nonessential.
