TLDR: I get paid decently to sit in an office and browse social media.

I work as an assistant manager at a drug store that you can probably guess the name of. My job is literally nonessential. I come in to watch over the store, make sure other people are doing work while I sit in the office on my phone scrolling. If the higher ups realize this- I’ll probably be fired. But the thing is that they encourage us to watch over our “lesser” employees to make sure they’re continuing to do what is required of them for the shift. So I feel bad but at the same time; I’m doing what is required of me while making a decent profit for it. I’m 28 years old and have decided to make this position endgame for myself. I don’t want to work below, considering I’ll be monitored to work harder and I don’t want to move up the latter since higher shifts at this store means more responsibility and more of a workload. If I can stay patient, continue to remind myself of the perks I’m in, and hope that the dynamic of the company doesn’t change for the next 30+ years.
