Gays are presented as being basically all the same on TV. Thats not real life at all. My partner and I live near Seattle and we were both from small towns in the Midwest. We dress like regular guys and have a small house which is filled with homemade arts and crafts. We are not married because we believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. We do not call ourselves each others husbands. My partner works for the highway dept and he will be home in about an hour, and I am making his favorite dish which is hamburger hash (lots of garlic) with a side salad. We watch mostly old shows on tv even though we are in our forties and I crochet in the easy chair. We also like to go out line dancing at country western bars but they are hard to find in this area. Just thought I would write this to say that we are not all alike.
