I just had this long a** conversation with my sister and cousin and f***… I need to let so many things out but the only thing my friends ever tell me is “let them be”, “you’ve done enough, let them suit themselves”.

My sister just turned 15 a month ago, but she literally just came home from a party where she kissed another 15-year-old who has a “girlfriend” (they’re actually each other’s ex’s but they’re trying to get back together) and told him to leave that other girl. She also can’t get over her own ex, she let’s him call her a liar and let’s him insinuate that she’s a s***, but when I say something bad about him, she defends him! She’s been having secret boyfriends since elementary school, fighting for years with my parents because of her revelry and I’ve talked to her millions of times, but she just won’t change. My friends, co-workers… Most people tell me to give up on her, but, WHAT THE F***?! DO YOU ACTUALLY REALIZE WHAT YOU’RE ASKING ME TO DO?! YOU’RE F****** ASKING ME TO GIVE UP ON MY SISTER! OF COURSE I F****** WON’T!

And now, my cousin (who’s living with us cause he’s studying high school in my hometown – he’s also 16) has a “crush” on this girl that my sister introduced to him. The problem?

They have never met in person.

What my sister actually did was talk to her friend about him, and talk to my cousin about her, so they added each other on Facebook. They’ve been talking for three weeks (and saying stuff as if they were already a couple), and they already said ‘I love you’ to each other.
Don’t call me negative or bitter, but how the f*** can you say ‘I love you’ and ‘you’re a big part of my life’ to someone that you’ve never met in person and that you literally don’t know? Cause they didn’t star as friends, they went straight to it.

We spent like two hours in my sister’s room talking about every single situation and stuff and they’re both stubborn, especially my sister (I mean, her personality is just like that, she always has to be right), she keeps telling me to let them experience everything for themselves, but 1) They’re 15 and 16, 2) They’ve already experienced a lot and they know what’s wrong and right, but they’re still going at the wrong stuff, and 3) I keep telling them that when they grow up they will understand, but God! They don’t seem to want to understand!

I mean, I’m not that worried about my cousin, cause at least he’s smarter, but…

What kind of 15-year-old girl is proud of saying that she has a lot of guys after her? Proud of kissing lots of guys and some of them with girlfriends?!

I’m doing my best to help them realize how young they are and that they would be so much better worrying about school and teenager stuff like friends and concerts and parties (the healthy ones, with friends and music and laughter, not looking for people to make out with – leave that for college if you want, but not middle and high school)

Call me old-school or whatever, but they’re still kids who don’t know what they want.

I just wish they understood that all I’m looking for is their benefit. That I’m saying all those things because they’re my family and I care about them…
