Is it just me, or does anyone else find it annoying when obituaries leave out all the awful things someone did, while lying about all the great things they never did?

Keep in mind. I have faith. I won’t share what religion so I may keep this civil, but I have faith.

According to stereotypes, I should be the last person to speak ill of the dead, else my immortal soul may burn. This is a stereotype to which I don’t conform.

It’s not speaking ill if it’s true.

My paternal great grandfather (father’s grandfather) was a child molester, thief, bully and abuser.

The way his obituary reads? You’d think he was the most thoughtful, merciful, kind man to ever exist.

Even his wife left him out of disgust, and everyone in my family I’ve ever spoken to despised that wretched excuse for a man.

Which makes me wonder… Who the Hell wrote such peachy things about him?

Don’t get me wrong, an obituary should be respectful. But it shouldn’t lie about good things that never happened and about horrible things that did happen.
