I’m a straight married white male from Iowa who voted for John McCain in 2008 because that’s who everyone I personally knew was voting for and then I voted for Barack Obama in 2012 after he proved to be a very smart and good man who saved the American economy, and I voted for Donald Trump in 2016 because like many of my friends, neighbors and family members I bought into his many, many lies.

As a lifelong republican I will not vote for Donald Trump again. He is a horrible actor and despite that there are no charges being brought against him by the Department of Justice, I believe him to be a criminal.

Donald Trump is also proof that should have been clear from the beginning: The 2 party voting system is a dysfunctional family ready to implode and collapse on itself.

The republicans in congress got highjacked by the tea party which was created by corporate scumbags Koch Brothers who both admitted in television interviews that they are both lifelong democrats.

Their success created a much more dangerous threat to democracy which is the fascist MAGA movement which is financed by the Mercers a multi-billionaire family who also financed the white supremacist/Neo-Nazi organization known as the Alt-Right.

The Democrats for the most part are at Civil War among themselves as the corporatist old guard are fight with the progressive new guard who are also at war against the republicans who basically serve the same corrupt corporate interests of the fossil fuel, pharmaceutical, defense, private prison, and banking industries who successfully undermined the law and in a way the American economy to work within their favor and their favor only as many Americans are still hurting.

The only Presidential candidates I see who genuinely care about the American people are the Bernie Sanders, Tulsi Gabbard, Elizabeth Warren, Andrew Yang, and Mayor Pete. The rest are shapeshifters and some are grifters like Trump, but more polished and likeable, but they are corporate puppets just like him.

I wish people weren’t so caught up into their identities and pay attention to what congress is doing to us as they serve their corporate masters. I look at this young woman they call AOC and I see she is what America needs more of in Washington D.C., someone who gives a real damn about us all and not just the ones who writes the checks.

I will not waste my vote again in 2020. I will not vote for the party I grew up apart of because it has been destroyed by Donald Trump who is also tearing our nation apart.

My vote will not go to the lesser of 2 evils.

I want a good woman or man to be our next President and I hope to see more smart and caring young people like AOC in congress.
