I’ve recently started to consider the South Park episode, “Eek, a P****!” to be more of a subtle apology for having been transphobic when Mr. Garrison insanely ranted about how “the true judge of gender is whether or not someone can get pregnant”, only for someone to point out how his wife has ovarian cancer and so can’t have kids, to which Mr. Garrison wildly conclude by saying, “Well then get an AIDS test, Thomson, ’cause your wife’s a dude…” reinforcing the idea that Mr. Garrison is and always has been a nutjob who you should not listen to.

Whether or not said apology was successful, that I’m not too sure about.
