Bear with me. 99% of the time, if two characters in a romantic comedy are on the edge of strangling each other at the start of the movie, they’re married by the end. In much the same way that Disney can be blamed for convincing us all that some unattainable perfect relationship is right around the corner, and you’ll know it when it happens, and all that other garbage, maybe romcoms have subconsciously told us all that a solid relationship has to be built on a foundation of being unable to stand each other.
