So a gay friend of mine recently admitted to me that they tried to “sneak” into a “straight bar”. I explained to them that – number one – they don’t have to sneak in, considering that they’re old enough to drink and obviously gain access – second – there’s no such thing as a straight bar. He then went on to try and convince me that bars that aren’t gay themed are for straight people. I then, again, told him it isn’t and that gay people are more than welcome to literally drink anywhere even if it’s not at a gay bar. As for the “sneak in” part, I’m guessing he acted like he was straight while in there? I have no idea. Ugh, it’s just some stupid term that he probably learned from the gay community again. It’s funny how they make problems for themselves, claiming that “regular” bars are for straight people only, when they’re actually for ANYONE. It’s probably just another political tactic of theirs to pass “equal right” laws when they’re already free to do whatever they want…just like anyone else.

  • Yes, you’re a privileged shitty friend.

When gay people go into straight bars there is a risk of homophobia, harassment, and potential violence.

When straight people go into gay bars there is a risk of…being approached, potentially hit on by a member of the same sex.

    Which is more uncomfortable/risky?
