I will never see the one woman I love ever again.
She even moved across the world to a different continent “to try and forget about me and us”. Her very words.
We first met while both married, and the spark was impossible to ignore. But we did, somehow. We got on with our lives as best we could. Then five years later she called me and said that she was divorced and would I like to meet up. I was newly single, and wild horses couldn’t have stopped me. The five years apart evaporated in an instant, and I fell in love so hard it hurt. We had five years of absolute bliss together – I honestly didn’t know a relationship could be so very special.
Then it all went wrong.
A bitter ex of mine got in touch with her on Facebook and started stirring the s*** bigtime. It was a constant drip of poison, like the Chinese water torture. And I learned to my cost that if the trust in a relationship is eroded, it’s damn hard – if not impossible – to repair.
I am no saint. I freely admit that I’ve been a total shitbag now and again. But I would not EVER have done anything to compromise what we had. But sadly that’s not enough when other people want to sabotage your happiness.
And so she moved. And soon afterwards I was diagnosed with leukemia, so I know for sure now that we will never meet again. I will never ever stop loving you, sweetheart. Thank you for all those good times – filled with laughter, passion and thrills. Maybe karma will visit that nameless ex that ruined everything, maybe not. But nothing anyone can do can take away my happy memories; the best years of my life.
